EB SAUNDERS
Eb Saunders is a young multi-instrumentalist from Chattanooga, TN. Eb first picked up the fiddle when he was 9 years old. His first fiddle teacher, August Bruce, taught him the fundamentals of the instrument and ignited his passion for bluegrass music. At age 10 he received a fiddle his Uncle, John Lamar, had built. Eb has spent a lot of time, to this dayvand over the years, picking with his older sister Ella. When the opportunity came for him to learn under his favorite hero, Jason Carter, music became the focal point of his life. Eb spent several years learning fiddle, mandolin and guitar while playing both with his dad's band and a local group of younger people like himself.
At age 14 Eb was offered a fulltime position playing mandolin with Barefoot Nellie & Company, where he got to play alongside his father, Owen Saunders and August Bruce. He toured with them for a year, picking on stages he had always dreamed of standing on.
At age 15, Eb took a job playing full time touring job at Cindy Pinion's Forever Bluegrass Festival, playing fiddle for The Landon Fitzpatrick Band. Durning his time with Landon he honed is craft, traveled the Eastern United States playing for a variety of people. September 2025 Eb stepped away from Landon's band to take much needed time at home. Eb soon realized he missed the music. Eb traveled and played for other bands around the Southeast. When Kevin Prater made the call to Eb about joining The Kevin Prater Band on fiddle, he knew it was an offer he could not pass up. Eb often says, “My dad has always been a hero of mine. The years he spent on the road with The James King Band were hallmarked by Kevin Prater's powerful vocals and mandolin playing.”
Eb says he is really excited to be running up and down the roads with Kevin and his band and hopes to add to the bands unique voicing and style.
