LARRY CADLE:  A professional musician who makes his home in Galion, Ohio.  Larry is a multi-instrumentalist who plays various styles of music.  His father, Dan Cadle, and Uncle, Charles Cadle both traveled and played bluegrass with various bands throughout the 60s, 70s, 80’s and on until their passing in more recent years.   His father was known as a great tenor singer and a good rhythm guitar player, and his Uncle Charles, well, he could about play anything, and they both had the best and sweetest of personalities, along with their brother, Gary Cadle who could play great rhythm and had often sang Larry songs, and mentored him during his path through adulthood.  They taught Larry about the importance of tight southern harmonies and helping keep the band in time.  Larry Hopes

Dan would often Listen to The Seldom Scene, Larry Sparks, Doyle Lawson as well as many others.  It didn’t take long for Larry to get bluegrass fever listening to those great records, that he, in fact, still listens to and studies today.  His favorite bass player was Tom Gray of The Seldom Scene, and The Country Gentlemen.  Although Larry Sparks’ guitar playing and singing heavily influenced Larry Cadle there is just something exciting about Tom’s bass playing that really knows how to move a person, and Larry tries his best to emulate that style as much as possible along with various other styles of bluegrass bass playing when the music calls for it.

Later in his life, around the age of 13 Larry’s parents divorced and he was estranged from his father.  However, their love of bluegrass music kept them both together in their hearts.  Larry’s mother was a gospel piano player and singer who also motivated Larry to play different instruments and sing in school, churches, and as he got older, supported him when he decided to start playing in clubs with various local bands around mid-Ohio.  His mother, now Sharon Beyer, and his Father Dan Cadle both went to great lengths to come and watch Larry play over the years.  He has said that he’s always been truly grateful for that.  Sharon still comes to his shows to this day, and he knows that his father is with him in spirit wherever he goes.   His stepdad, David Beyer is always in attendance too!  So much so that Larry often drives them home from gigs whenever it’s dark out.  They are certainly, a loving and dedicated pair, and Larry is thrilled that they are in his life, helping him and his family, and supporting his musical career.

It wasn’t until the age of 37 or 38 though, that Larry got to meet a banjo player named Scott Osborne who had been known for playing many great festivals throughout the seventies and also engineered and recorded some of gospels great artists.  Over the last 5 years, Larry and Scott would work together in two great Bluegrass bands, Blue Universe and Lincoln Highway, who were both known for their exciting and non-contemporary bluegrass sound.  In Blue Universe Larry played lead guitar, and in Lincoln Highway Larry played bass.

Larry has always dreamed though, of traveling and playing with more traditional bluegrass bands and loves to add a “little flavor” with some exciting bass playing.  He’s happy to have found a new home with The Kevin Prater Band and hopes to stay with them for years to come.  They are an exciting band, who are both professional and funny.  Both Kevin and Dalton are very educational and understanding/compassionate people.  Larry loves that about them.

At one time, Larry had a 9-piece blues band called The Larry Cadle band and has spent many hours playing in studios and live venues.  All the while, feeling like something was missing.  When he plays Bluegrass, he feels like all his walls come down, he feels at home, and he loves sharing that with whoever is in attendance.  He’s very grateful to anyone who loves bluegrass music and who appreciates those that perform.  He also loves to thank each person for coming to the shows and tries to get to know each and every one of them as often as he can.  And, with extreme confidence, I can tell you, that Larry wants to play bluegrass music for the rest of his life.

Larry released a single called “My Tennessee” and was working on a country recording project with The Mudkings during the last year that has now been completed and released.  He also loves recording bands, engineering music, and writing original material.  Larry is always surrounded by music and for as long as he lives that’s what he’s going to continue to do.   Whether he’s playing Jazz, Country, blues, or gospel Larry is just tickled pink to be playing.  When he’s playing Bluegrass, well, that’s another story.  I suppose you could say, he’s just a notch above Cloud 9.   You’ll see and understand why whenever you see him on stage.

One day Larry hopes to have a full-time career in playing bluegrass music.  That’s always been his dream, and he’s grateful that now, finally, he can share it with all of you!  When you see Larry out and about, give him a warm hug, a smile, and a good wink, because likely, that’s the first thing he’ll do when he sees you!  (Yes, he’s a hugger and has a big personality so watch out!)

Finally, he would like to thank God for his abilities, talents, and for allowing his life to work out to be able to play the music that he loves.  He also would like to thank his wife Amanda, and all of his children who see the value of his musical capabilities and for supporting him in his endeavors wherever they may take him, and he highly encourages them to do the same.

2026 update, Larry has been playing with The Kevin Prater Band and has been enjoying every minute it of it for this last year that they've been with them.  This includes, 2 tours in Canada, a 19 day trip out to California and back, Florida, Wisconsin, and many, many other states.  He doesn't plan on leaving any time soon, and hopes to see all of his new friends out on the road here in 2026!
